After having competed in the Ateco Winch Challenge, and Rainforest International Challenge of Malaysia in 1998, David (MMM) Metcalfe began planning the first ARB Xtreme Winch Challenge, and with a crew of volunteers conducted the first ARB Xtreme Winch Challenge at Landcruiser Mountain Park. 

The ARB Xtreme Winch Challenge Series was the first Winch Challenge Series conducted by the same Event Organizer in Australia.

David Metcalfe has since added:

• Xtreme Team Winch Challenge

• 4WD Angel Adventure 

No members of the 4WD Family are forgotten with Xtreme 4X4 Sport conducting many Events from the ARB XWC to David Metcalfe's 4WD Angel Adventure each. So there is something for everyone.

Round 1 & 2 of ARB XWC's 10th Birthday Series were a total success.

Friday night SS will commence at 1830hrs with a very quick sprint run to get the Teams warmed up. This will be followed by 2 SS.

Saturday the action will start at 0830hrs with 5SS.

Sunday will see the finale 2SS conducted with the last vehicle running no latter then 1400hrs followed by Presentation at 1500hrs.

Saturday night  Dinner & Midway Presentation will be held at "The Royal Hotel" Manilla for Officials, competitors and spectators.

Food & cold drinks will be available during the weekend.

Admission:- $30 for a weekend pass or $15 per day. Children under 15 are Free.

Camping:- $10 per vehicle for the weekend.

Event Fees:- $380. All entries to Xtreme 4X4 Sport, 31 Elm Court, Morayfield, Qld 4506.
