David Metcalfe’s 2009 4WD Angel Adventure will start at the Geographical Centre of Queensland, Muttaburra and finish 14 days later in Cooktown.

Please book early and mention the Angel 4WD Adventure when making any accommodation bookings. I will issue the camping areas for those that do not want accommodation. All camping is close to the "Official Adventure Base".

4WD Angel Adventure:- ??????km’s plus a few more k’s for Archangel’s side tours.

During the Angel Adventure there will be some half days along the way to enjoy great Queensland points of interest. You will even get to ride on the famous "Gulf Lander" at Normanton. Have time to relax beside or on the clear waters of Karumba.
 
And when you finally arrive at "The Top End" a trip to Thursday Island and Horn Island will be the thing to do.

COST

  • Registration fee: $200 donation to Angel Flight Australia

  • Plus a further donation of $600 (or more if you want) to Angel Flight Australia

  • Entry fee: $1400 payable to Xtreme 4X4 Sport

  • Catering: $1685 per Team. Includes ride on the "Gulf Lander". (Team covers 2 people for meals, entrants will supply their own lunches on any lay-days).

  • Extra adults: $625

  • Children: $395 per child. (4 - 12 years)

  • Camp fee's $10/15pp. Accommodation cost range considerably from $100/$250 double for Motel type accommodation. $30 up for a single in a old style hotel room

  • Attractions such as:- Undara Lava Tubes $47pp, Chilagoe Caves $15pp, Weipa Mine Tour $27, Jardine River Ferry $88, Thursday Island ferry and tour $125 add on Horn Island $48pp. All these prices are 2008 and could change before we arrive. Please note that these are only suggested activities.
