What a start to 2011
Well us Queenslanders have really been given a real great start to 2011.
Central Queensland, South Western Queensland saw all the rain as we watched in awe down in the South East Corner and thinking bloody hell.
It is amazing what a day can do, next it was Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Ipswich, Caboolture and Northern Areas and Brisbane. This was to be as bad or worse then the '74 floods (Waiting game now for both Ipswich and Brisbane)
Sue and I just missed the flood waters by 450mm then we would have had a wet floor, but we were one of the many lucky one's. There are thousands more not so lucky. So if you can lend a hand or give a dollar will be a big help to get most back to a normal life
My heart goes out to all the people that these floods have affected. Brisbane & Ipswich at the moment are looking down the barrel of a bloody big rifle, the next days will tell what the worst will be.
To the families that have had loved ones die during this event, I cannot express how I feel, but all I can say is that I am so sorry.
I am a "Royalist" at heart but I must compliment our Queensland Premier Anna Bligh & our Prime Minister Julia Gillard on the way that they have handled this crisis. Good one guys, you make us proud to be an Australian.
I have postponed Round 1 of the Xtreme Winch Challenge until the 18th - 20 March 2011. Venue is still The Springs via Warwick.
Get prepared for the Mini Muster in April, this event supports Angel Flight Australia.
That is all for now.
Cheers
David
